Beyond reason
I often hear arguments that reject faith, as if the belief was an insult to human reason. But no, faith makes up for that reason can not go further. One can, of course, refuse. Because it often takes a long process of reflection and events that teach us before we can say: yes! Sometimes, however, many experiments, we could describe as mystical (Paul Claudel , etc.), we show that this "yes" comes instantly, as a result of a light from above. But yes this is often preceded by many years of painful research. Let a beautiful
up to our rational mind is able to advance far enough in seeking the truth. But do not let him all the space. Because this is part of the truth: The reason has its limits. It must accept and conform to a higher truth that transcends: a fullness that faith alone can penetrate.
This truth is of the order of the divine, it can not be contained in a created being limited. It is both a pain to adhere to what we can understand, but also a joy to feel seized in the infinity of God. Especially when we know that this is also called Infinite Love (cf. " Joy of believing, Joie de vivre. "Francis Varillon, Centurion ). The whole life of Christ directs us to this.
So what we saw as the absurdity of life makes sense. And we enter the fullness of the mystery. This mystery we often fear because it goes beyond our measure as an unknown human being can grasp.
I often pondered the possibility of rejection of faith. In my case, I can not refuse it, as if I could not do otherwise. Is this a gift? They say, and I think. So I can not brag about it!
But why is it given to each and not to others? Question I can not answer. Perhaps it is a question of timing. ? Each in its time! But fortunately the redemption is universal, available to all humans. "This issue of the faith of believers already arose in the days when the Church was born. In speech after the Last Supper, the gospel Jean puts into the mouth of one of the apostles asked Jesus how he made his that you reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?. That question will arise again and again: How is it that God might just illuminate, illuminates not everyone? How reserve it enlightenment to some, without being able to know the reasons is his choice? Redemption is universal revelation mansion ..... There is a virtual revelation that is broader than the explicit revelation. This revelation is the work secret of the Logos "(1)
