DISTURBING QUESTIONS ON THE BACK AND MALI LITERARY AWARDS
Here contents of an email sent to the founders of the FUND'S LITERARY AWARDS MALI which speaks volumes about the atmosphere that permeates this medium. Is this the beginning of a saga? You be the judge:
*** The 2nd edition of the literary season in Mali has generated much discontent in bringing these issues primarily addressed to the founders of the FUND'S LITERARY AWARDS MALI which are: Tierno Monénembo Ismael Samba Traoré, Aida Mady Diallo and Ibrahima Aya.
questions of exceptional severity on the conditions under which the events took place in the last edition the literary season in Mali. Indeed, for the sake of transparency, we ask them
1 - Can we have access to the list of all books that have participated in various literary competitions?
2 - Can we have access to the list of names of jurors of different competitions?
3 - Can we have a detailed criteria for awards?
4 - Can we have access to the list of nominated books before the final announcement of the winners?
5 - Why has there not been delivered price for the FIRST ROMAN as advertised?
6 - It does this relate to the first edition in which the price Massa Makan Diabaté had not found a winner? Why?
7 - Why Mr. Idriss Mariko Ntchi, a board member, took it upon himself to mention at the awards ceremony Massan Diabate (this 2nd edition) a criterion on the oral tradition, but this is not explicitly mentioned in official documents?
8-How is it that during the two editions, the price Ouologuem Yambo (the highest) is always assigned to a foreign national? Is this really a coincidence?
9-Why Mr. TIERNO MONEMEMBO is both founder and board member FUNDS? There he has no conflict of interest?
10 - And this is why Mr. (not a Malian) is so involved in a fund to Malian literature?
11 - What is the exact amount of funds allocated to the event? How much was actually spent? Can we have access to invoices?
12 - Why do people invited to make presentations during the debates they have not been paid? Is there not a budget for this?
